October is Breast Cancer month where the world acknowledges and talks about awareness and the fight for the cure. Breast cancer is very near and dear to my heart as the disease claimed the lives of both my maternal grandmother and my second cousin just two years ago on our birthday.

Back in May 2008, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and we were all concerned about her but not worried because we knew that she would be okay. Although she had two surgeries, she decided against the traditional treatment of chemotherapy and radiation as she had the unfortunate experience of watching it kill both her mom and first cousin.

After her second surgery, my mom went to a holistic doctor in Florida who taught her how to properly care for her body after ridding her body of the disease via surgery and I’m happy and thankful to say that my mom has been cancer free for a little over 4 years now. She just had her 50th birthday on September 24th and I’m happy to say that she has passed the age of those who died from this terrible disease before her.

We learned that breast cancer is a disease that attacks your body due to pH imbalance. When your body is too acidic, you’re more prone to develop the disease. The key is to be sure your body’s pH is more alkaline and than acidic and you can do this by taking in more green foods as well as drinking alkaline water. Also, cancer feeds off sugar so you have to be aware of your sugar intake as well because acidity and sugar are what causes the disease to develop.

Please be sure to support and fight against the cure not only this month, but year round.Remember those who have suffered from this terrible disease and honor them as well as celebrate the lives of those who survived.
